Ford Ranger 4x4

The Ford Ranger 4x4 Diesel is an excellent choice for travelers who want a tough, capable pickup for exploring Ecuador’s paved highways, rough mountain roads, muddy tracks, and remote rural routes. Its diesel engine and six-speed manual transmission provide strong low-end torque and excellent control on steep climbs, loose surfaces, and long-distance drives through the Andes. Four-wheel drive gives the Ranger added confidence when road conditions deteriorate, while the snorkel adds extra protection when crossing deep water or traveling through wet and dusty environments. Our Ranger is equipped with hardened Ironman suspension and aggressive M/T tires, giving it improved durability, ground clearance, and traction on Ecuador’s rougher roads. This setup makes it particularly well suited to travelers heading beyond the main highways and into areas where potholes, rocks, mud, and uneven surfaces are common. Inside, a Bluetooth-compatible sound system keeps phones and music connected, while the Garmin GPS navigation system helps with route finding throughout the country. The included Garmin DriveCam also provides an additional record of the journey and the road ahead. The Ford Ranger is best suited to drivers who are comfortable with a manual transmission and want a practical, adventure-ready vehicle with the carrying capacity and ruggedness of a pickup. For independent travel into Ecuador’s mountains, coast, Amazon region, and remote countryside, it is one of the most capable vehicles in our fleet.

  • Basic injury insurance — SPPAT Ecuador's SPPAT accident-protection system covers victims of traffic accidents, including drivers and passengers. Coverage includes up to US$3,000 in medical expenses at public or private health facilities, up to US$200 for ambulance or emergency transportation, up to US$5,000 for accident-related disability, US$5,000 in the event of death, and up to US$400 for funeral expenses. US$3,000 goes a long way for medical treatment in Ecuador, but a serious accident can easily exceed that amount. We strongly recommend carrying additional travelers' insurance.   • Supplemental third-party liability Extra coverage for damage or injury caused to others while operating one of our 4x4s.

    Booking Terms Summary
    Payment

    A 50% deposit confirms your reservation. The remaining balance is due at pickup.

    Cancellation

    Deposits are refundable, minus 10% of the total rental price, when you cancel at least 90 days before pickup.

    No refunds for cancellations less than 90 days before pickup — regardless of reason. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
