The Suzuki DR650 is an excellent choice for riders who want a simple, dependable dual-sport motorcycle capable of handling Ecuador’s paved roads, dirt routes, mountain tracks, and remote backroads. Its 644 cc single-cylinder engine delivers strong low-end torque, making it easy to climb steep grades, accelerate out of tight corners, and maintain control on loose or uneven surfaces. The power delivery is predictable and manageable, giving the DR650 enough strength for high-altitude riding without making it difficult to handle. The DR650 feels lighter and less intimidating than a large adventure motorcycle. Its narrow body, comfortable upright riding position, and proven suspension make it well suited to tight Andean roads, open dirt tracks, jungle routes, cobblestones, and rougher sections where a heavier motorcycle becomes more work. On pavement, the DR650 is comfortable and stable enough for connecting longer sections between the more interesting roads.
